Popular DC Comics hero The Flash recently gained his own television series, a spinoff of the popular show "Arrow", based on another DC character, Green Arrow.
The series is a fairly faithful adaptation of the comics, and is extremely well done. I found it fun to guess which characters are adapted from the comics, and figure out their alter-egos if they have them. This post is mostly about the characters and their comic counterparts.
I have my suspicions about Cisco Ramone, one of Flash's allies. He appears to be just a innocent scientist, but will probably end up as the DC Comics hero Vibe, due to them having the same name. Vibe has the power to control sonic vibrations, and has worked with Flash before, making him pretty much a definite to appear.
Another character who bears similarities to the comics is Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, who appears to me to be their adaptation of the comic character Eobard Thawne, the alter-ego of the villainous Professor Zoom. Zoom is essentially a dark version of the Flash, with the same powers, but evil intentions.
Various other characters are mentioned, but these too are the only ones I really noticed. Overall the show is terrific so far, and I heartily recommend it.
