Deadpool!!!!!

So I decided to use this blog as an opportunity to occasionally showcase some of my artwork.

This is the first art-post and I'm using it to display a recently completed fan art of the Marvel Comics character Deadpool. Deadpool, Marvel's resident invulnerable, talkative, sword-wielding mercenary was introduced in New Mutants #98 in February of 1991, and quickly became a popular fan favorite for his sharp wit and general bad-ass-ness.

Now... Some character background...

Wade Wilson was diagnosed with a rare, fatal, form of cancer, and in a desperate attempt to save his life he allowed Weapon X, the same top secret Canadian government program that gave the X-Men's Wolverine his indestructible Adamantium skeleton, to experiment on him with an artificial recreation of Wolverine's mutant healing factor, in order to cure the cancer.The cure worked, but it left Wade a scarred and mangled wreck. Weapon X deemed the experiment a failure and placed Wilson in a prison lab. Wade eventually escaped from the lab and began a new career as the katana-wielding mercenary Deadpool!!!!!

The artwork is my own, done in pencils, the Deadpool/Wade Wilson character is a trademark of Marvel Entertainment.
