Doctor Strange!

Good news Marvel fans! We have a Doctor Strange! Marvel released the news recently that Benedict Cumberbatch, known for playing the title role in the popular BBC show Sherlock, will be joining the ranks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as  Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange!

Cumberbatch was rumored to be in talks for the role previously, and officially accepted the role as of recently. The movie will be released in 2016.

For those of you who don't know much about the character, I'll give a little bit of information.

Stephen Strange was a highly respected neurosurgeon, until a tragic car accident damaged the nerves in his hands, rendering him unable to perform surgeries with the precision required for the job. Strange was devastated, and spent many months attempting to find a way to heal his damaged hands. After all other attempts failed, he was told of a man known as "The Ancient One", whom he was told could heal him, and trained with him for many months with a group of others seeking the Ancient One's help. After months of training, the Ancient One revealed a secret to Strange: He had been teaching him magic. The Ancient One had chosen Strange out of all of his pupils to be his successor as Earth's "Sorcerer Supreme", the guardian of all the magic on earth. And so he became the mystically powered Doctor Strange!

I believe Cumberbatch has the potential to be a fantastic Doctor Strange, and I am extremely excited for the movie.
